    Система заключения сделок на фондовой бирже, при которой функции фондового джоббера (stockjobber) и фондового брокера (stockbroker) выполняются различными фирмами. При системе совмещения ролей (single-capacity system) эти две функции могут объединяться фирмами, известными под названием “делатели рынка” (market makers). Система разделения ролей существовала на Лондонской фондовой бирже (London Stock Exchange) до октября 1986 г. (см.: Big Bang (“Биг бэнг”)), когда была введена система совмещения ролей, что поставило лондонский фондовый рынок в один ряд с большинством других международных зарубежных фондовых рынков. Основное достоинство системы совмещения ролей состоит в том, что она позволяет инвестору снизить издержки, хотя в то же время она создает больше возможностей для нечестного совершения сделок (см.:Chinese wall (“китайская стена”)).

    “Делатель рынка” (market maker) на Лондонской фондовой бирже (London Stock Exchange) до “Бит Бэнга” (до октября 1986 г.). Фондовым джобберам разрешалось проводить сделки только с широкой публикой при посредничестве фондовых брокеров stockbroker). После “Бит Бэнга” система совмещения ролей была заменена системой разделения ролей (dual capacity system) “делателей рынка”. Прежде джобберы, чьи обязательства традиционно были не ограничены, зарабатывали себе на жизнь джобберским оборотом (jobbers turn), т.е. получали разницу между ценами, по которым они собирались покупать и продавать. После “Бит Бэнга” большинство лондонских джобберских фирм было поглощено более крупными финансовыми институтами, в основном банками.
